This is the challenge for Sunday Night. The card is on Pg 114 of Wishes. I was not crazy about the design when I first saw it but I quickly figured out what to do. I wanted to try a technique that I recently found in a book that I was reading where they made a heart out of flower petals. I used a large just blooms. I have to say it made a cute heart.

Shadow

This is my new addition to the family. Shadow was my mom's dog. My mom passed away with Leukemia this past summer. This dog was her pride an joy. She joined my family Thanksgiving weekend.

I know it has been a while since I have posted. My computer room has no heat and it is above 0 FINALLY!!!

This card got the approval from both of my 13 year old girls. They said "cool".

I used a sizzix heart and embossed in black from the "you rock" stamp set. The border was made with a border punch but coud just as easily be made with circle punches.

I got this pattern out of the November edition of Card Maker Magazine. I made this one using Boom Di Ada pattern paper Hollyhock, and Garden Green Card stock and of course the CTMH Just Blooms Autumn. My little girls (twins) will be 13 next saturday. I think this is a great way to present a gift card. Invest in this magazine becuase it had lots of great ideas for gift card holders.

This is this week's card challenge. Stipulations are a green and purple round card. I am so in the Christmas Card making spirit that I couldn't stop.

I used twilight, and outdoor denim card stock, b&t from aspen, denim twill ribbon and a snowflake brad. Make sure if you give snowman soup that you use marshmellow hot cocoa.

Thinking Of You BCA

This card was a special order for a lady that I work with. She wants to send it to someone who is battleing that breast cancer battle. She just wanted something to let her know that she was on her mind. I did not use CTMH pattern paper for this one but the cardstock is bubble gum, the ink is bubble gum and I just coordinated it with something that I would find cheerful. The pattern did come out of the wishes book.

Card Challenge Pg 33

This is the card challenge from the wishes book this week. The stamp set is long since retired but I love it as much today as the day I purchased it. I used a little liquid glass and prisma glitter to make the trees appear frosted. As normal with Prisma glitter it gets everwhere so I rubbed the upper portion of the circle in the glitter and sealed it with a little hairspray.

A couple of weeks ago we had record cold to deal with. We woke up one morning to a dusting of snow. By that afternoon the leaves fell off of the tree AND THEY WERE STILL GREEN. I have never seen anything like this before. Now we have no leaves on the tree. I was so sick with the flu that I couldn't even think of messing with downloading photos and sharing. Now that I am better and the temps have bounced back to normal I would like to share with you all.

This card is tonight's challenge. Pg 121. I love this paper and the more I play with it the more I fall in love. I found this card design a little challanging. However once I started working on it I thought of tons of ways to use it. So this week I am going to come up with other uses for this card. I was just going to use card stock on this card but I found that it was lacking something so at the very end I changed it. I hope you like the change. I used the paper from the jingle creative basics. some dots from the level 2 jingle pack Juniper and Tulip card stock and the juniper ribbon from the creative basics.

This card was made today. I free cut 3 ovals and made a pumpkin out of the shapes. I used a sizzix die to make the swirls. The papers are Orange, Autumn Terracotta, Olive card stocks and B&T from Enchanted paper pack. The stamp is from Many Thanks stamp set. This was just a fun card before I began my weekly challange.

Aspen Christmas Card

Judy and I are at it again. We love to challange each other. Tonight's challenge was simply to use page 52 in the wishes book. As I was gathering my materials I passed over the Aspen paper pack and thought about my newly purchased Dementional Elements Snowflakes. I just had to use this paper pack. I am quite happy with the outcome.

The recipe is as follows. 5X7 card base. Aspen B&T 4.5 X 5 and 2.5 X 5. There is a 1X5 piece of outdoor denim card stock. The circle is a outdoor denim 3" circle with some Aspen B&T cut to 2.5" inside. The outdoor denim for the letter area is 2 3/4 X 6 1/4 the twilight is 2 1/2 X 6. The snowflake is a dementinal element that was embossed in white then glitter placed over the white and embossed again. The snowflake brad is from a craft store. The ribbon is also from a craft store. The stamp set used is Card Chatter - Christmas. I used outdoor denim ink. I actually distressed using white daisy ink.

Boo Card

It was a chilly fall day here in Great Falls, MT. What better than to sit on the couch watching old movies and creating. This is a fun card I know I made one similar to this not too long ago. I wanted to play with purple and orange today. I used a sizzix die cut ghost, pansy purple card stock, orange card stock and b&t from a bulk package of game time (I think). None the less it has a cute effect. The Boo is from October word puzzle stamp set.

What The Hay? Scrapbook Page

This is a sample of the page that I am teaching in my class on Saturday, September 26th.

The paper is Twitterpated. The layout was found in the Imagine book. Sweet Symphony Pg 24. I do have the pages reversed. I used chocolate card stock, sorbet card stock, colonial white card stock, chocolate distressing ink the dots and stripes from twitterpated. I reversed the dot paper to give me the light brown. Very simple but it looks amazing. The pictures here are of the What The Hay festival held a little over an hour away from Great Falls, MT. This is where the locals make hay sculptures and allow the general public to vote on them. I liked the N-hay-vy ship myself. The imagination in this festival was wonderful.

Sympathy Card

Sympathy cards are always the hardest. A dear friend of mine lost a loved one. This card was really hard to make. I so love the paper pack so hopefully she will love the card. The card was made using the simple pleasures paper pack and stick ease. I used a template from the wishes book pg 77. I ran the paper through my printer so that I could get the perfect saying. I used chocolate ribbon from the ribbon rounds. I distressed the edges with the chocolate distressing ink.

Getting Better Birthday

This is another birthday card for someone that I work with. I hope that she likes it. I simply used black ink, hollyhock and black cardstock hollyhock just blooms, white just blooms dyed black and black gross grain ribbon the stamp is card sentiments (retired) and western flourishes.

Beary Nice Birthday

It has been a while since I last posted. I have a new job now and I am usually tired when I get home. I devote my weekends to creating and family. This card was made for someone that I work with. We needed a masculine birthday card. This immediately came to mind.

I used New England Ivy textured card stock, bamboo card stock, B&T from the back country bulk papers, chocolate gross grain ribbon, chocolate ink, cocoa ink, and the curly greetings stamp set, curly sentiments stamp set and the beary best stamp set. The silver for the fish was purchased from a craft store.

Petite Perks Mini Pizza Box

I made this cute box to give away with my Petite Perks. Petite Perks is a booking incentive stamp. If a hostess gets 3 bookings at her party then she earns a Petite Perks stamp. I wanted a box that was cute and that showed off the stamp in it's glory. Ok I showed off a little Jingle paper too. The design on the top of the mini pizza box is from a 3x3 card out of the old card confidence program. This card is not in a current book but this is a great way for someone to get a pattern for a 3x3 card. I got the pattern for the mini pizza box off of www.splitcoaststampin.com and I made one then re figured the measurements to make it fit our mini stamp set perfectly. I used juniper, tulip, and white cardstock. I used b&T papers from the jingle paper pack. I used cranberry, twilight, black and garden green inks. I used the petite perks stamp set along with thank you stamp set.

Flower Card

Tonight's Challenge was a shaped card. The shape was flower and the colors were black and red. Judy and I often challenge each other. This keeps us both thinking outside of the box. This is what I came up with. I used CTMH cranberry and black card stock. I printed the words out on the computer using Cranberry paper. I did not have a stamp set to say what I wanted to say. I would like to see if any of you out there can come up with a flower card. The card base is 5x5 the flower can be anything you wish. Come on and join the fun!

Yeah! I am ahead of the power curve. I have finished my greeting cards for the month of September. This is a birthday card for my sister-in-law. I am still using the discount flowers that I got from a craft store. These pearls were also from a craft store. They were all attached in a row and I cut them apart to use them individually. The sparkle is from CTMH. The card stock is chocolate. The ink is Cocoa. The B&T was from Magic Moments L2. The stamp sets used were Curly greetings and thoughtful seasons.

Boom Di Ada Card Kit

This card kit template was purchased from www.sunystampinstore.com. I used boom di ada paper several stamp sets (all CTMH). The inks used were tulip, hollyhock, and garden green. The card stock was colonial white and new england ivy. This set is just like the one that I did before. I did alter the pattern from the template using these bands of paper instead of ribbon to close the card. Flowers are just blooms and some from a craft store. The brads are from CTMH and craft store. There is a flower button that also came from a craft store.

Metropolis, Illinois

These photos I just had to share. This all came about on our road trip when there was a sense of urgency in the car to find a bathroom and I was at a quarter tank of gas. We stopped at this little gas station that had these wood figures in Metropolis, Illinois. I just had to take pictures. This scrapbook page is the template Front and Center page 74 of the Reflections book. I used Moonstruck, Topiary, Honey, and Cranberry cardstock. I used a strip of B&T from the stardust paper pack. The letters were ran though my computer and cut out.

Road Trip Pages

Wow! Has it really been a week since my last post. Sorry i will have to get better with this. I made these scrapbook pages today. I used the reflections book for the templates and wonderful ideas. The top page is Title Topper - heading on page 17 and the bottom page is Sampler Collage on page 127. I used Route 66 paper. The cardstock is Moonstruck, Cranberry, and Topiary. I also used the Stick ease from Route 66. Collages are not my strong point in fact I usually stay away from them. This was the best way to share views from more than one subject at once.

Anniversary Card for Jim and Wanda Frost

This is an anniversary card for my brother-in-law and sister-in-law. I used the B&T papers from simple pleasures. I love this paper pack. It is absolutely beautiful. I also used the stickease stickers. I stuck the long flower on a cream card stock cut it out and poped it up using popin dots. I also used some dementional elements to frame Happy Anniversary. The stamp set was say it with style and the ink was chocolate.

I got these flowers on clearance at Michaels. I never use yellow. I just could not pass up the price of $1.99 from $6.99. I made this in pink for my daughters to hang in their entry way of the basement. So I decided that I needed one that was bright and cheerful using my value find. This will hang above the door in my crafting room.

This cute little card was made using the Enchanted B&T papers. I used a sizzix die to die cut out the ghost in velum and the pumpkin in autumn terracotta. Black ink was used on the edges and the boo. The stamp came out of the October word puzzle stamp set.

I made these buttons using my button maker. I wanted a unique nametag that showed off a little Close To My heart artwork as well. Magic Moments Card

I wanted to make a card for my table using paper that was not retired. I decided to use Magic Moments b&t. I used a flower from a craft store, two just blooms and I made my brad using an extra large brad from a craft store. I painted it and cut out some paper from the magic moments then glued it onto the brad. I sealed it all with some liquid glass. This is a great way to transform any brad into a work of art. I used cocoa ink to stamp the saying from endless friendship. The card layout was from the Wishes book page 33. As you can tell I love this book.

Fall Cards

I am nearing the bottom of my retired CTMH papers. Working with these papers in the past few days made me fall in love with them all over again. These cards have 2 pieces of paper (B&T) that were not CTMH. These were sets purchased long ago but I wanted to make the best of what I had left. I used the celebration card workshop in the Wishes book. I did use raffia and some string from a craft store. I enjoyed making my own paper by random stamping. The celebration card class went so quickly that it would be a fun class to do on a saturday with some customers. The B&T paper was from Abundance. I remember this one because it was a favorite of mine. There is autumn terracotta card stock and olive card stock. I used several inks to include chocolate, olive, barn red, autumn terracotta, new england ivy, and bamboo.

Just Because Card Set Winter

This card is made for an aunt and uncle. This paper on the inside came from a kit a few years ago. The cherish came from a calendar set a couple of years ago. I used blush and barn red card stock. The velum was printed on my computer. I used raffia from a craft store. I added just blooms with a green brad to tie in the raffia.

In an attempt to use up scraps and retired paper I made this card for a neighbor who is expecting a little girl. I honestly do not remember the name of the B&T. I used lavender and pansy purple cardstock. I used pansy purple ink. I used just blooms and a brad. The stamp set is gracious greetings (perfect for any occasion).

Circle Birthday

This card was made using center circles pg 117 in the wishes book. I used twilight cardstock, colonial white cardstock, simple pleasures stickease, chocolate ink. I used a flower that I received in a scrapbooking kit for christmas. The brad was made using an extra large brad (craft store) a stickease and some liquid glass.

I have been making lots of cards lately. The plan is to make sure that I do not miss a birthday or anniversary again.

I decided to do the celebration workshop starting on page 21 of the wishes book. I used bella bulk paper and coordinating cardstocks. I used thank you cards as a theme. This project was fun and enjoyable. I can't wait to use other paper and see what the outcome will be. This will be a future class. It came together beautifully.

Life Delights Circle Card

OK. Judy challanged me to a card layout. The challange was simply use the layout in the wishes book page 67. While trying to decide what paper I wanted to use. I chose my safety net. I don't think anything could look bad using life delights. I do feel that I cheated just a little because of the stickers. It works beautifully and it will make a great card for someone.

Life delights (scraps), chocolate cardstock, sweet leaf cardstock, chocolate ink and life delight stickease.

That's Amore Gift Card Set

This project is a briefcase/purse and four matching pocket cards. I used that's amore paper pack, chocolate cardstock, tulip cardstock, tulip ink, chocolate ink, chocolate ribbon and several stamp sets. This set if focused on friendship. I thought it would be cute cards to share among that friend who always seems to be there for you. The purse or briefcase can also double as a gift bag.

Anniversary Card

This is a card I made for my brother in law and his wife. They have an anniversary coming up later this month. I am not sure of how long they have been married because they were married long before I met my husband.

The card is made using bella pattern paper. Purple Pansy cardstock flowers and ink. Petal card stock, creme brule ribbon and colonial white brads. The design was altered just a little from the background blocks design in the originals book page 48.

Birthday Wallet Card

I wanted something unique and diffrent for my son's upcoming birthday. I was online with Judy Applegarth and I had decided to make a wallet. I had taken my son's wallet and started measuring it. Judy directed me to this blog. http://www.arronsbooth32.blogspot.com/

Aaron Brown had already found a tuturial on u tube. Wow my prayers were answered. I am so grateful for all of the wonderful consultants out there who share.

I used stardust pattern paper and moonstuck and honey cardstock for this wallet. The stamp set is seasons of the heart (retired). I did use a star punch for the star on front.

My son loves looking at the stars. Well we live in Montana (Big sky country). This idea was easy for me. I will fill his wallet and he will have the coolest card ever. Now I just have to wait until the end of August to give it to him.

Call me sentimental. My 9 year old son wanted to make cards with me tonight. After a few attempts with sticky notes and scrapbooking scraps, he asked if he could use scraps to make a real card. I opened the Original's book and taught him how to read the dementions and cut him loose. I told him that he could use some of my stamps too. He made this card for me. This makes a mother so proud. I told him never to let anyone tell him that crafting was not for boys. He did a fantastic job.

Mt. Rushmore Page

This was Scrapbook Challange # 15. These challanges keep me motivated to do more scrapbooking. This is great for someone who needs that little push.

This paper I purchased just for the Mt. Rushmore pictures. I thought it would not take away from the nature elements. I guess I was right. The paper is Simple Pleasures. The stamp set that i used was Ticket Tags. I used twilight ink, and chocolate gross grain ribbon and chocolate waxy flax. I also used chocolate distressing ink. The layout is from the Imagine book Pg 90.

6x6 Birthday Card

This is a 6x6 Birthday Card using That's Amore paper, Tulip cardstock, tulip ink, just blooms, colonial white gross grain ribbon, Curly Greetings stamp (retired) and a brad from a craft store. Today I tried destressing just the edges of the ribbon. If you wish to try this one be prepared for inky fingers.

I enjoy making cards that I can have around for all occasions. This makes me always look prepared for those special occasions that seem to sneak up on all of us.

The scrapbook layout is in memory of my mother who passed away a week and half ago. I am not quite ready to write any thing personal about her but did want to use her pictures with my favorite paper.

Badlands Scrapbook Page

This page was made using a template from the Cherish Book page 64. The paper used was from the paper pack of bella. I used Dementional elements upper and lower case letters. I printed a picture and glued the letters on the back of the picture and then cut them out around the picture. This was a little time consuming but it allowed me to show yet one more picture of this beautiful place.

Badlands national park is located in South Dakota. This used to be the ocean floor billions of years ago. Today it has given us this beautiful national park. There have been many fossils found here. This is also a great way to see how years of erosion effect the earth.

I know this stamp set is the Close To My Heart stamp of the month for last month, but I couldn't refuse working with it today. I actually believe I heard it call my name today. It reminds me of the retro barbie. I wanted to do something cute and cheerful. This card was simply made with hollyhock, black and white card stock. I used hollyhock ribbon and black ink. Sometimes taking a step back and simplifying things is good. My girls don't want me to send this. They want me to frame it and put it in their room.

This is a statoinary set that I put together for some pre-teens. This is to encourage them to stay in touch over the summer. This project was a lot of fun

Beary Best Card

This is a card that we will be doing in my next class set for Thursday, June 18 at 7pm. The class is open to anyone who wishes to attend. There is no charge for this class.

I used All Close To My Heart Materials. The stamp set was beary best. Outdoor denim textured card stock for the base. I used B&T from The back country paper pack. I used textured bamboo for the areas stamped. I stamped with chocolate and outdoor denim. Outdoor denim twill ribbon.
